The best way to get more clients through Facebook is to fit in with the culture of social media, and stay active.

The fact is, people are on Facebook to socialize. That’s no big surprise, I know, but as a business, you have to make sure you keep this in mind if you want to use it as best as you can.
Here is a Quick-Action plan for getting more clients through Facebook.

1) Post content that is interesting and engaging.
2) Post regularly and often.
3) Actively socialize and reply to comments on your page.

Focus on doing these three things on a regular basis, and you will start to get more attention and more clients through Facebook.

Right Now, it is time to ACT so you can start getting all the benefits of Facebook marketing for your salon. If you want to learn more, I have put together a detailed newsletter called “Zero to Facebook for Salons.” You can get FREE access to some of my best Facebook marketing strategies and techniques simply entering your email address here:

Learn How To “Say The Right Thing” On Your Website To Turn Visitors Into New Clients.

What is the first thing someone sees when they visit your website?

It better be right, because their back button is an easy click away.

Is it a drawn out explanation about your certification, experience and services? Do you send the message that you don’t care about your clients? And all you care about is talking about how awesome you think you are?

Visitors at your website don’t care how awesome you think you are. They have a problem and the only thing they care about is if you can fix it.

Their problem is specific, too. Vague, open ended statements that don’t hit their problem right on the nose ARE NOT good enough.

What Your Website “Says,” Gets A New Client Or It Doesn’t.

You just have to make sure you’re saying the right thing. Do you know the number one question every visitor wants answered? Its simple. They want to know “what’s in it for me?”

They have a specific problem and they want to know if you can solve it. How well your website answers that question will determine the number of new clients you get from the internet.

Maybe they had a bad experience at another salon. They got a bad hairdo and it cost them a lot of money, and they don’t want to make the same mistake. What can your website “say” to convince them you’re a good choice?

2 Ways To Answer “Whats In It For Me?”

1) Focus on the benefits – What will they specifically get out of your service? Spell it out for them in detail.

2) Eliminate fear of wasting money – Offer an iron clad guarantee that assures they won’t waste cash.

When you get more clients, you get a good look inside their mind. What fears do they have? What problems do they want solved? What past experiences make them unsure about picking a new salon?

There is a lot you can do to get more clients. I have packaged the best strategies I know into an eBook for you. It has taken me a LONG time to figure this stuff out, and I’m never surprised by salon owners that need a little help. It isn’t their fault. Beauty school doesn’t teach marketing, but it is vital to the success of your salon.

My eBook “20 Ways to Get More Salon Clients” is the FOUNDATION for everything I teach…It is a “must read”. You can download it online, Risk-Free, and be reading it in about 5 minutes…

Learn Website Mistakes That Are Costing You Money– Plus How To Fix Them

I get a lot of salon owners who write in and ask me what they should be doing with their website.

My answer is usually, its not what you have, its what you DON’T have that’s costing you money.

I thought I would share the most common mistakes I see salon websites making.

The Key Mistakes A Website Makes

Most websites include information about how awesome they are and brief snippets about the services they offer. A visitor doesn’t care about what you think of yourself, and most won’t understand the services you offer without a little explanation.

Your potential client has a problem that needs to be solved. It likely isn’t finding a salon with “10 years experience” or “the best styles in town.” Their problem is very specific and based on past experiences.

The whole reason they’re on your website is because they think you could have a solution.

Their curiosity won’t last if you ignore their issues.

Grab the visitor’s attention by offering a solution to their problem. Acknowledge their problem and assure them you aren’t like other salons. Once you get their attention, you can get them to book an appointment.

2 Steps That Turn A Visitor Into A Client

1) Offer a coupon.

2) Ask for their email to get the coupon.

Lets say Sally’s old stylist completely torched her hair. It was damaged for weeks and it cost her a lot of money in products to get it back to a state she could live with.

Her hair is finally back to normal and she’d like to find a new salon to get it done. Her past experience wasn’t a good one, but she has reluctantly found her way to another salon’s website. Its your website!

She could find a couple different things when she gets to the homepage.

1) “We have 10 years experience and have the ability to create any trendy hair style you want because we are so awesome.”

2) “All of our services are 100% guaranteed. If you aren’t satisfied, we’ll fix it, and you don’t have to pay.”

Based on Sally’s past experience, which do you think she is going to pick?

If you said #2, you’re right. She found a salon that understood her problem and assured her they could solve it.

Once you’re able to get one or two new clients in your salon, you’ll need to know how to get more referrals, earn more money per client and eliminate no-shows once and for all. I’ve done all the hard research and testing of what marketing strategies work, and I’ve put it in my eBook, “20 Ways to Get More Salon Clients.”

Inside the eBook you’ll learn simple to use salon marketing strategies that will bring in more clients, more referrals and more profits.

Learn The Top Reason Why Your Website Doesn’t Get Local Search Engine Traffic, And What You Can Do To Fix It

Did you know that you can target people in your area searching for a new salon?

Most salons–and I’m talking about 99% of salons– aren’t doing what it takes to show up in local search results however.

Its a shame because they’re missing out on high quality prospects looking for what they offer.

But here’s what you need to know:

There’s a HUGE DIFFERENCE between regular traffic and HIGH-QUALITY, TARGETED traffic.

Regular traffic won’t do you any good. You need pre-qualified, local search traffic if you want website visitors to turn into clients. When they are looking for a new salon, and they live in your area, YOU want to be who they find.

When I bring this up to the salon owners I work with, I usually get a look like I’m crazy. This stuff is tough right?

It isn’t complicated AT ALL and I’ll show you how how easy it is.

3 ways to show up when someone local searches for a new salon.

1. Put your city or town in your website URL.

2. Put “Salon”, “Hair Salon”, “Beauty Salon” or “Salon/Spa” in your URL.

3. Create a URL that is identical to the phrase people will use to search.

An example of all 3 would be: www.BestChicagoSalon.com

Most salons choose to make their website address identical to the name of their business. This is fine, but you won’t gain an edge in getting new clients from the internet.

…once you get into google, the clients start rolling in.

The above strategy is just one of many simple ways you can start getting clients with a website.

Once you start getting more clients, you’ll need to learn how to earn more per client, get more referrals and get high quality clients that happily pay top dollar for your services.

Luckily, I’ve done all the heavy work and figured that out for you.

In fact, I wrote an eBook called “20 Ways to Get More Salon Clients” that every salon can use to jump start their marketing and get an almost instant surge of new business.

Want to learn how you can start getting new clients fast?

Aaron Harmon Explains How Using One Simple Secret Can Get You Tons Of New Clients From Your Website.

I’ve learned a secret to getting new clients from your website that I’m going to share with you right now.

Its a secret that probably not 1 in 1,000 salon owners know or will ever figure out on their own.

The REASON most salon owners will never learn it is because its TOO OBVIOUS.

Let me explain…

Websites are usually designed to make the salon look “hip” and “trendy.”

If you read the average salon website, all you see is how qualified, or how awesome they are.

Its cool to think your salon is great, and you should. But do visitors really care what you think about your own business? You’re suppose to think its great, and visitors know this.

Here are some signs that a website focuses TOO MUCH on how awesome they are:

1) The first thing you mention is how long you’ve been in business.

2) You put a vague catch phrase at the top of your homepage.

3) You expect visitors to call without telling them to.

…in other words, you completely ignore your website visitor and what they really want.

Let me say it again VISITORS TO YOUR WEBSITE DON’T CARE HOW AWESOME YOU THINK YOU ARE.

When you talk about how awesome you are, people are put off. They only care about WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR THEM.

That’s your first hint actually…

The Website Secret To Getting New Clients

Remember at the beginning when I told you I was going to share a secret about how to get clients from your website and not 1 in 1,000 salons will figure it out on their own?

Well, here it is:

MAKE AN OFFER

Give visitors a reason to pick up their phone and book an appointment.

How To Make An Offer

So you have a new visitor at your site, and they’re looking for a new salon.

What will make them pick you?

Will they pick up their phone and book an appointment because:

1) You have been in business for 10 years, all your stylists are awesome and you can create all the trendy hair styles.

OR

2) They find a $10 voucher that is only good for 14 days, and you guarantee their satisfaction with your service.

Well it depends what you want the outcome to be.

If you want them to know how cool you think you are, go with number 1.

If you want to ACTUALLY get new clients from your website, use number 2.

Most salon websites don’t have the knowledge to include something like this, and they have been terribly misguided.

If you really want to bring in new clients from your website, give visitors a GOOD reason to book an appointment.

They’ll love the offer, and they’ll love your salon when they visit.

There is more you can do to bring in new clients, but they aren’t as OBVIOUS.

The most important thing you can do on your website is make an offer.

What’s the best way to do this?

Offer a $10 voucher or coupon

Make it time sensitive

Guarantee their satisfaction

Download my eBook on “20 Ways to Get New Salon Clients”

(By the way, inside the eBook you will get detailed strategies for bringing in new clients on a regular basis. On page 14 you learn exactly how to frame a guarantee so no one will have an excuse for NOT becoming your client.)

The struggling beauty salon owner is way too often blind to the massive opportunity right in front of their own face. By implementing these 4 proven salon marketing strategies, you can start making more money almost immediately.

If you aren’t looking for each possibility, you’ll keep being the troubled hair salon / spa owner that never knew things you should do. The four secret hair salon marketing techniques down below can help get you started out.

Think back to when you opened up your own salon. Your mind ended up being stuffed with ideas, your goals were massive and it was just a question of time before you were making the big bucks. It all mightn’t have turned out the way you thought, issues might have become a little bit “slow” to say the least.

Luckily for all of us, there is a solution. The following 4 hair salon marketing techniques are successful practices that have sky rocketed my own salon. Don’t be oblivious to opportunity!

1. Raise Your Prices

Don’t fret, joined with the next methods it may be the single most beneficial decision you make. And this is the reason why.

Not one person would ever buy a Mercedes when the only difference between it and a Chevy was price. Folks purchase it because of what they get for their money. In other words Mercedes has a greater “perceived value” compared to Chevy therefore people are willing to pay more for it. To a whole lot of people salon services are the same coming from one place to another. You know this isn’t true, and its your job to to teach them.

2. Educate Your current Customers

Why would someone want to shell out more for the same service? They wouldn’t, so its your job to inform them about the difference between high quality and the lowest price. You can achieve this by educating each and every customer whenever they’re in your chair. Let them understand your professional judgment and back it up with all your expertise. You might even create a consumer guide to give every client. They’ll be very impressed with what they’re receiving for their money.

3. Enhance Perceived Value

Your objective should be to become the Mercedes of hair salons. There is a big distinction between price and value. Price is what people pay, value is what people get. In cases where you give clients a lot more than anyone else, they’ll happily pay more on your services. The most effective hair salon marketing strategy goes into substantial detail on how to exactly do this.

4. Present an Iron Clad, Extraordinary, Completely Outrageous Guarantee

The final part to put it all together is offering a significant guarantee. One that each client hears and wonders how you possibly earn money offering it. Doing so will set you apart from every other salon, remove the sense of risk to lose money on a more pricey service and display how confident you’re in your greatness.

The 4 tactics all work together. You can boost prices given that you inform clients, elevate perceived value then eliminate risk with a rock solid guarantee.

Do you own your website? Or should I say, do you THINK you own your website? If you wanted to take it and do whatever you wanted with it tomorrow, could you? Being at the mercy of a web designer can be aggravating and risky when it comes to your hair salon website.

You send emails, make requests, and you want things done quickly. Whether or not any of that happens all depends on your web designer. You’re with out a doubt paying them for that service as well. Sometimes hundreds of dollars for something that doesn’t seem like it should take more than a few minutes.

I’m not saying all web designers are created equal, but a lot of them aren’t worth the money they charge. They use sophisticated “web talk” in order to confuse you into thinking they deserve that huge check. In reality they’re slowing down your business, and charging more money than you can afford. Especially considering web designers are not marketers. They couldn’t care less about your website’s ability to bring in new clients.

Can Your Salon Really Own Its Own Website?

Yes it can. There are tools widely available today that allow every single business own to create and own their own website. I’m not talking about a cheesy turnkey website either. I’m talking about a complete website with high powered search engine capabilities built right in.

I’m working on a comprehensive website package that will walk you through the entire process of building your own professional website for way less than a web designer. If you want to be one of the first to know when its available, enter your name and email below:

COMING SOON!!!

Enter your email below to receive a 50% pre-launch discount when the training is released!

The internet is growing and so are the tools available for building a web presence. You don’t have to be a victim of over priced web designers any more. Even if you aren’t “computer savvy” this training program will walk you through the simple process of building a website that gets you new clients day and night.

If you don’t want to spend the time building your own website, you can easily hand this training off to an employee or family member. Assign this to your receptionist, anyone with less than an ounce of compute skills can build their own website. It is as simple as making a decision to take control of the business you built.

The training will walk you through exactly how to get your own website online. How to set it up at the click of a button. Building your own website is as easy as editing a Microsoft Word document. Throughout the training I will be right by your side, answering your questions and helping you as much as you need.

Go ahead and enter your email above and take a step towards building a smarter web presence for the business you’ve worked so hard to create.

Hands down with out a doubt, if your salon website is not getting you new clients, it is not doing what it should be. As a hair salon owner, your sole purpose should be on getting new clients through your door every single day. Building a website is only worthwhile if it helps you do exactly that.

If you aren’t seeing a consistent flow of new clients coming through your door from your website, it is likely your website is making one or all of the following mistakes.

1. No Opt-In

If you want to turn a website visitor into a new client, you have to give them the opportunity to do it. Put an opt-in form on your homepage, and every page of your website asking for at least an email address. This will allow you to stay in contact with potential clients. Simply staying in the forefront of their mind can be enough to earn a new client. If you don’t ask for their email, they won’t give it to you. Pretty obvious right? Too many websites don’t do it though.

2. No Incentive to Opt-In

It is awesome if you are asking for email addresses, but it is even more awesome if you offering something in exchange for their email address. Offering something of value will increase how many people elect to give you their email. Offering them something will also build a relationship with them. They will be grateful for the free gift, or coupon, and they will be more likely to become a customer.

3. No “Whats In It For Me?”

A new visitor to your website ultimately wants to know what you can do for them. If there is a visitor on your website looking for a new hair salon, they likely have a problem. They might need a specialty service, a hair color expert or a new hair salon all together. The first thing you should do is present the problems your salon solves. This immediately tells the visitor they have found the right place for them. It will increase their chances of going one step further in becoming your new client.

4. No Blog

If you want to show up in search engines, you website needs to be relevant and up to date. The best way to keep your website fresh is with a blog. It will attract repeat visitors and become a central hub for your hair salon. It will help retain clients, educate clients and bring them in the salon more often. Publishing a blog is a great way to position yourself as the hair care specialist in you area.

If you correct one or all of these mistakes you might expect a new surge of clients coming into your hair salon. I understand, as designers we are all visual people. We like things that look nice. There is nothing wrong with a website that looks nice as long as it is bringing in new clients. If you have to sacrifice looks for a website that gets you new clients fast, do it.

Needless to say people are ignoring the yellow pages and turning to Google more and more. If you want to attract new clients with a website, you need to show up in the search results of someone in your area looking for a new salon.

How to show up when locals are searching for a new salon.

You can pay google for advertising, but that costs money. I’m not all about spending money when you don’t have to. ow you exactly how to target free local search traffic so it flows into your website.

In order to target local search traffic, the first thing you need to do is discover what keywords and phrases they’re using. What I mean is, you want to know exactly what words they’re putting into that google text box.

To learn the best keywords you could survey a ton of people, and use fancy tools to find high volume queries or you could keep reading this post because I’ve done all that for you.

What I found is, people looking for a new salon are not searching specific salons. If your potential new clients aren’t searching your salon name, why would you want to be optimized for your salon name? You wouldn’t be if you want to get new clients from the internet.

“Best salon in…” and “salon in…” are the phrases most commonly used by googling for a new salon.

The best part about optimizing your website to show up for those search terms is, people looking for a new salon will be finding YOUR salon!

How do you know exactly what people are searching for in your area?

There are a few pieces of the phrase that will be custom to your area. If “beauty salon” is more common than “hair salon,” plug it in. You want to nail the phrase as perfectly as possible.

The second part is filling in the end of the phrase. You probably noticed I left a “…” string at the end. Thats because there is more!

The end of the search phrase is your town, city, country or area. Whichever term is most commonly used to describe your area, add that to the end.

The search phrase you want your website to show up number one for is:

“Best {salon, hair salon, beauty salon} in {your area}”

That is the exact phrase you want to show up for when people are searching. This is pretty advanced stuff so don’t be surprised if you start getting clients faster than you can handle them.

In order to get new clients from the internet, you have to target new clients. In order to target new clients you have think like a new client. What would they search for if they wanted your services, but didn’t know you existed?

The internet is a must for any serious hair salon marketing plan. The yellow pages have been replaced by things like Google, Facebook and Twitter.

When visitors hit your website, your ultimate goal is to turn them into a new client. We know what your website says is important, but we need to somehow inspire visitors to pick up the phone and book an appointment.

The number one sure fire way to turn a visitor into a client is to offer a time sensitive, $10 coupon on your homepage. It seems simple but there are some important details for doing it right.

1. For New Clients Only
Restrict existing clients from using the coupon. If you don’t you’ll have customers using it every time they come in for a cut. While that would be awfully nice of you, the point is to get new clients to your salon.

2. Time Sensitive
This creates a sense of urgency. In order for them to not miss out on the discount they need to book an appointment soon. If you let them redeem the coupon later, later may never come.

3. Dollar Amount
A $10 coupon will outperform any discount percentage like 10% or 15%. The concrete evidence of exactly how much money they are saving makes the coupon more attractive.

How Do You Do It?

The coupon should be on your homepage. You want to use colors that allow it to stand out from the rest of your website. Don’t worry if it is an eyesore, that is the point! You want people’s attention attracted to it because that is exactly what will get new clients in your door.

Have your webmaster put a click able box like the picture below on your homepage.

On the page it links to, ask for their name and email address then send them the new client coupon.

If you have any questions or you don’t have a website capable of adding this, leave it in the comments and I will definitely be there to help you out.
